Oh hurry please I’m hurting so
I’ve fallen among wolves
my flesh is torn and I’m bleeding
my life’s blood stains my wool

I’ve lost my way from home
I struck out on my own desires
in searching the unknown

many futile paths have I taken
for better ways to cope
not finding satisfaction’s joy
or having very much hope

and then the dangers came at me
for I’ve become the prey
to be consumed and torn apart
the enemy has his way

but wait the enemy flees to run
a greater One has come
it is my Shepherd come for me
to save his lowly one

what love to leave the ninety-nine
to search for one lost sheep
and I was the ungrateful one
that He desires to keep
____
my Master has me in His arms
to never go astray
and when I know His warmth of love
I know I’m home to stay
